Nasci (NAH-see) comes from the Latin nāscī, meaning “to be born” or “to come into being.” It carries a sense of beginning, unfolding, and emerging into life.

About The Program

Nasci Learning Forest is a licensed home-based preschool program providing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences aligned with Georgia’s Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).

The program supports children’s physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and language development through daily outdoor play, hands-on exploration, and structured and unstructured activities in a safe, nurturing environment. Emphasis is placed on whole-child development, school readiness, and fostering positive social skills and independence.

Denise

Nasci Learning Forest is founded and operated by Denise Joy Amos Ramirez, a wife, mother, educator, and artist with over 10 years of experience supporting children from birth through age 18.

She has experience supporting neurodivergent children and adults and individuals with disabilities. Her background as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), academic coach, and inclusion coordinator informs her inclusive, person-first approach, which honors each child’s unique strengths and needs.

Denise holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Child Development, a Family Childcare Child Development Associate (CDA), and has completed DECAL’s 40-hour Director Training, Pyramid Model social-emotional training, Positive Discipline training, and over 100 hours of child development training. She is also First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certified.

Her mission is to expand access to high-quality nature-based education in Georgia while inspiring curiosity with care.

Daniel

Daniel is a husband, father, and brings a steady, thoughtful presence to Nasci Learning Forest. He has experience supporting youth through hands-on educational programs in metro Atlanta and brings a deep appreciation for nature through homesteading, permaculture, beekeeping, and graduate work in Biomimicry

.

Daniel’s background in service and leadership, including the United States Marine Corps and mission-driven operations roles, reflects the kind of trustworthiness, care, and integrity that helps families feel confident and supported in our learning community. He will also be onsite from time to time supporting the program and helping care for the learning environment.

Audrey

Audrey Amos is a dedicated educator, mother, and grandmother whose support helps nurture the heart of Nasci Learning Forest. With 14 years of experience in education, she served as an elementary and middle school teacher for 5 years and as an elementary principal for 9 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Education, along with certifications in culturally responsive teaching, social and emotional learning, First Aid, and CPR.

As the mother of three adult children and grandmother of four, Audrey brings wisdom, care, and a deep belief in children’s growth and well-being. While she is not a classroom teacher at NLF, families may see her onsite from time to time as a valued supporter of the program.
